Where we started.

In 1979, we opened as a small repair service and supply shop on the family farm and called ourselves Huberdale Farm Supply. We found our business growing quickly and soon ran out of space to continue our operations on the farm.

Where we are now.

In 1990, we built a 5200 square-foot facility at 815 Railway Avenue in Lipton, Saskatchewan. We’ve come a long way in the space that we operate in today, and the services that we offer for automotive, heavy truck & agriculture equipment.

We’re excited to see where we’ll go next!

Our Story.

RCS Repair Ltd. has not always been RCS Repair Ltd. The business was first established in 1979 under the name Huberdale Farm Supply and operated on the family farm, just North of Lipton, Saskatchewan. Huberdale Farm Supply was established as a result of diminishing repair shops and services in Lipton and the surrounding areas.

In the 1960’s there were as many as seven automotive and agricultural dealerships in Lipton, but by 1978, there were almost none left; while an unfortunate economic decline, this posed a promising business opportunity.

By the late 1980’s, Huberdale Farm Supply had become a full-time business and had outgrown its operating space on the family farm; it was determined that a change was needed and so the decision was made to start a full-time repair business to service Huberdale Farm Supply’s growing client base.

At this point, Craig was graduating high-school and had quite a knack for mechanics— he became a partner in a new venture soon to be known as RCS Repair Ltd. The property that hosted L.D. Cohen & Sons and the Walter Rogg Blacksmith Shop was purchased and developed to what is now known as RCS Repair Ltd.

The new shop boasted a 40’ x 70’ service bay, with the front bay being set up for automotive repairs, and the remaining space being set up for agricultural needs. The front office space of the building was initially rented out to Lipton Agencies, but has since become the hub of RCS Repair.

As with any business, RCS has grown and evolved over time to adapt to the ever-changing needs of its client base. In its early days, the business saw a great deal of automotive engine rebuilding— in fact, RCS rebuilt over 100 automotive engines in its first year alone!

The farm repair side of the business also began to expand, and a larger inventory and list of service offerings brought in a larger client base. After moving to town, the business began offering air conditioning repair services, as well as in-house transmission and heavy truck repairs.

Today, RCS Repair offers mobile services that allow the business to take its services to its customers to expand its service area and clientele. RCS also offers electronic diagnostics for automotive, heavy truck, and agriculture equipment, keeping the business up to date with the latest technologies and equipment.

What began as a hobby shop on the family farm, has become a high-quality, multi-faceted repair facility that services areas far beyond Lipton. These various aspects of the business have allowed RCS to stay viable and continue to grow in an ever-changing market.
